Based on a novel by Bryan Burrough, Public Enemies is a film adaption of the story of three of the most notorious American gangsters in the great depression. The great depression has given way to a massive escalation in crime. Its up to Melvin Purvis, FBI agent, to stop three of the most dangerous gangsters in his society. Public Enemies will deal with his fight against John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Pretty Boy Floyd. Melvin Purvis, the main character of Public Enemies, shall be played by Christian Bale, who has developed a lot of recognition in such movies as Batman Begins, The Machinist, and Equilibrium. Hes also the lead in the highly anticipated sequel to Batman Begins, titled The Dark Knight. Public Enemies will feature Johnny Depp, Chanting Tatum, and Stephen Graham as the antagonists of the movie. John Dillinger will be played by Johnny Depp (Sweeny Todd, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, and all three of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies). Public Enemies second antagonist, Pretty Boy Floyd, shall be played by Chanting Tatum (Step-Up, Shes the Man, Stop-Loss). The third of the Public Enemies, Baby Face Nelson, be played by Stephen Graham (The Passion TV series, Filth and Wisdom, The Innocence Project). Public Enemies shows a very promising cast of actors. Johnny Depp has especially always been highly regarded for his acting talent.
